2009 Herding Trials and Tests

Here is the low-down:

Hado Bar Farms, 324 Country Rd 1171. Nova, OH Saturday - Monday, Oct 10-12

This herding facility will be the home for all A-Course Trials (5) (sheep and ducks) and the Herding Tests (HT/PT - not the instinct tests) This facility has been home for many AHBA, AKC and ASCA events and the facility and stock are well suited to the arena work of A-Course.

The GSDCA will offer both GSD specialty trials and all-breed trials scheduled for Saturday, October 10 through Monday, October 12.  Nova is about 2 1/2 hours from the Champions Center, the location of the rest of the National events other than tracking.

Champions Center, Springfield, OH.  Monday - Thursday, Oct 12-15.

The C-Course trials and Instinct Testing will be held at the same site as the rest of the National.

C-Course Trials (2): Monday - Tuesday, October 12-13

The fairgrounds facility will enable a totally different and rather life-like experience. C course was designed to mimic a day in the life of a tending shepherd and by using the actual roads and grassy areas existing on the grounds, this trial will provide a totally unique test for the C course exhibitors. Being close to the conformation, obedience and agility locations also makes it easy for other exhibitors to watch this event.

Instinct Testing - Wednesday and Thursday, Oct 14-15.

This year Instinct testing will again be offered on-site at the National,  and this year will be better than ever. There will be 4 different tests - 2 days of Round Pen testing (the kind we are most familiar with), and 2 days of Tending style testing. (Full Description of Tests)

Instinct tests are limited and they always fill. A word to the wise - enter early. Space permitting, day-of-event entries will be taken, but if you want to test your dog, enter early!
